Psychiatry Grand Rounds

Psychiatry Grand Rounds are conducted the 1st Thursday and occasionally on the 5th Thursday of each month at noon in Lecture Room D or the Psychiatry Library, C5620.

The focus of Grand Rounds will be basic science or clinical science research presentations by department faculty, members of the larger Penn State neuroscience community and invited outside research scientists or renowned clinical scholars. The emphasis of Grand Rounds over the next year will be improving our collaborative interactions with members of the PSU community by having our colleagues throughout the university system present their work and theoretical views.

Physician category 1 and licensed psychologist credits will be provided for this activity.
Clinical and Administrative Case Conferences

Clinical Case Conferences are conducted the 3rd Thursday of each month at noon in the Psychiatry library, C5620.

Faculty from each clinical division will present a case, which is instructive or provides a theoretical model for understanding the practical application(s) of recent advances and current standards of care.  Faculty and occasionally a resident will present the case and provide scholarly review and discussion of the learning potential and implications for clinical practice.

Physician category 1 and licensed psychologist credits will be provided for this activity.

Journal Club

Journal Club is conducted the 4th Thursday of each month at noon in the Psychiatry Library, C5620. This activity is structured to allow two faculty members to review 3-5 articles published in peer-reviewed journals during the past 6 months.The articles focus on significant new knowledge, discoveries or research in the field of the faculty member’s area of expertise. Faculty members at all academic ranks will present at Journal Club. Physician category 1 and licensed psychologist credits will be provided for this activity.

Neuroscience Seminar Series

Penn State Hershey Neuroscience Research Institute Seminar Series is conducted on Fridays at 1:00 pm in designated meeting rooms. This activity is directed towards all those who have an interest in the neuroscience research field.

This program is focused on neuroscience research, basic and clinical, of relevance to the Departments of Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, Neural and Behavioral Sciences, Neurology, Comparative Medicine, Cellular & Molecular Physiology, Microbiology and Immunology, Pharmacology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Public Health Sciences, Humanities and Radiology Neuroscience. Professionals from the broader community are welcome to attend and participate in all seminars.
